Hip but brings tears to the eyes:
The kids are hip and modern, the stories are fantastical and mysterious, and, somehow, in spite of our hardened sophistication, the stories are able to bring tears to our eyes.

Miracles is terrific! This collection is written for real-life American Jewish kids; for kids who while mindful of the import of Judaism for their parents, are struggling to define and understand their personal Jewish connection. The children in these stories are identifiably real, and that is part of the book's power. A welcome book for the young Jewish family:
This is a wonderful set of stories: warm, gentle and quite moving. I think it would be an ideal bed-time book for little kids. An excellent holiday gift for the family with little kids (and maybe older ones, too)to help them build their connection with Judaism. Highly recommended.
Great Gift for yourself or others:
A great book for your family or to give as a gift. I read this with my daughters. The stories are short and moving. They represent realistic situations on issues confronting our children in todays world- with a Jewish theme. The stories started us discussing these issues within our own family. This is one of those books that you pull off the shelf and reread both the general and holiday specific stories year after year. A definite plus to any family's home library.
