The spectacular HOLLYWOOD KLEZMER performs traditional klezmer with a unique fusion of Eastern, Sephardic, jazz and classical sounds. The band thrills audiences of all ages. Featured performances on TV shows include: Beverly Hills 90210, Party of Five, The Chabad Telethon and KCET's Annual Holiday Celebration. Live concert successes include: The Playboy Jazz Festival (2002), The Hollywood Bowl's children's concerts, the Hadassah National Convention, the Democratic National Convention, and the San Diego Klezmer Festival. Each musician in the group is a star performer in his own right, plucked from the top Hollywood recording studios and international concert circuit. With its roots in Eastern European Jewish culture, this World Music group entertains, educates and uplifts audiences with its joyful celebration music. Since the band's inception in 1993, producer/guitarist Jordan Charnofsky (Doctor of Musical Arts) has managed and booked the band. Leo Chelyapov (clarinet), Jordan Charnofsky (guitar & mandolin) and Larry Steen (bass) were founding members of the band. The group was formed in the summer of 1993 at the Brandeis-Bardin Institute in Simi Valley, California, where Jordan served as Musical Artist-in-Residence for nine years. Song List: 1. Get up, dance and clap your hands!:

This c.d. was as fun as I had hoped it would be! The music really makes you want to clap your hands! If your so inclined "get up and dance"! Fun and a good representitive of this style of eastern european jewish folk music! I'm very happy with this uplifting music.
