With "A Show of Hands", Victor Wooten has made something very near the ultimate bass experience. He makes the 4 string bass sound like an entire full fledged orchestra and displays bassplaying skills I would've thought impossible before hearing this album. He takes slapping and tapping to a new level with this CD. It will definitely leave all bassplayers impressed if not awestruck. Life changing!:
This is life-changing music. It has changed my 15-year-old son's (nicknamed Bassist) life. For me, with no such talent, I just have to be wise enough to step up the volume control (particularly during "U Can't Hold. . ." and "Classical Thump".) And, for me--when the stereo is off--I get to hear my son do Victor Wooten. That has changed my life.

The first time I saw Vic Wooten was during Bela Fleck's Three Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Tour. I was sitting in amazemnet...I never thought someone could play that ggood. There were people sitting next to me that were bass players & were amazed. One guy said to me that he didn't know whether he should go home & play his bass or just throw the thing out the window.
