The Spartacus Mystery:

I was very interested in seeing this movie even though the story was familiar. I believe that this film and Stanley Kubrick's Spartacus are based on a novel by Howard Fast. This re-telling of the Spartacus story gives you a hint of his background - he had been a soldier and was thus familiar with warfare. The TV miniseries opens in Gaul 72 B.C. where the Romans put an end to Varinia's world making her a slave... Meanwhile Spartacus (Goran Visnjic) is free from the hell of the gold mines of Egypt to be trained as gladiator in the establishment of Lentulus Batiatus (Ian McNeice).

Spartacus mini series:

As stated in previous reviews the history is a bit off.
But besides that i enjoyed watching the show. I thought the acting was pretty good, the picture & setup of the movie is excellent.
Do not expect this to be The Gladiator :) But if you like the B.C times, you shall enjoy the show.
