Fantastic product, I had borrowed a smaller model from and friend and really liked the set up. I went bigger so I could double up on the Quart bottles. I love that it has a metal to metal seal and NO rubber gasket. Highly recommended.

I can confirm what others have written here. This is a classic design, unlikely to be superceded. Unlike pressure cookers that require rubber gaskets to make the seal, this canner will not wind up in your garbage any time soon. You might be interested to know that some governments have outlawed such large canners for home use. If you would like to help ensure your family's survival in hard times your grandchildren might thank you for the investment.

This pressure canner is every bit as sturdy as other folks have stated in their online reviews. For those who state that the lid "sticks" a little, I found it to be very good advice when someone stated that they put a little petroleum jelly around the lid before locking it down to prevent anything from sticking - it worked.
