The Goetia of Dr Rudd: The Angels & Demons of Liber Malorum Spirituum Seu Goetia Lemegeton Clavicula Salomanis with a study of the techniques of evocation ... context of (Sourceworks of Ceremonial Magic)
The Goetia (Lemegeton) is perhaps the most famous grimoire after the Key of Solomon. This volume contains a transcription of a hitherto unpublished manuscript of the Lemegeton includes four whole grimoires: Liber Malorum Spituum seu Goetia Theurgia-Goetia Ars Paulina (Books 1 & 2) Ars Almadel This manuscript was owned by Dr. Thomas Rudd, a practicing scholar-magician of the early seventeenth century who knew Dr. John Dee. There are many editions of the Goetia, of which the most definitive is that of Joseph Peterson, but this volume shows how the Goetia was actually used by practicing magicians in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, before the knowledge of practical magic faded into obscurity. For example, to evoke the seventy-two demons of the Geotia, or the many other spirits listed here, requires more knowledge than is included in the grimoires themselves. It was well-known in times past that invocatio and ligatio, or binding, was a key part of evocation, but in the modern editions of the Goetia this key technique is expressed in just one word "Shemhamphorash," and its use is not explained. This volume explains how the 72 angels of the Shemhamphorash are used to bind the spirits, and the correct procedure for safely invoking them using dual seals with the necessary angel seal and Psalm. Also, for the first time, the exact form and use of the breastplate and Brass Vessel is explained.

An immensely powerful series:
Hello there, Let me first state that I failed completely in attempting to post a review on the forthcoming work of genius Veritable Key of Solomon.
So much so that I felt it was unsure if it would be published by amazon.com in the near future. I then visited their websites and noticed much to my delight that it is at present in the process of being published.
I was fortunate enough to acquire one copy of the Goetia of Dr. Rudd and was very impressed with what I got. I think this is going to... more info
Greatest Goetia book of all time.:
I will keep this short!!! This is the greatest goetia book of all time. It is detailed and advanced and is a system that is complete and this book shows you this. This is high level stuff none of the watered down Golden Dawn bull. If you study this version of the goetia and practice it similarly or the way it is written in the book YOU WILL GET A PHYSICAL MANIFESTATION!!!!! I am chaos magician and have mastered evocation to the black mirror and have had very pathetic success to physical evocation only... more info
A must have for any serious Goetia student.:
I love this book and I hold it in the highest regard of all the translations of the Goetia out there (well the entire Lemegeton in fact since it is all in there). A big reason for this is because it is Dr Rudds version. A magician we actually know practiced this kind of magic that has written it. It shows a well thought out system on how to use the Shemhameporesh as a counter meassure to the demons. Not that I am entirerly sure they are supposed to be used with the Goetia it is still a very interesting... more info
A 'Must Have' for Students and Practitioners:
The Goetia of Dr. Rudd
By Stephen Skinner & David Rankine This book is a "must have" for anyone who is seriously interested in Solomonic ceremonial magick, from either a scholarly or a practical point of view. It is on a par with Joseph Peterson's Lemegeton --- which it complements and amplifies with a wealth of previously unpublished authentic 17th century materials from the noted magician Thomas Rudd (see A Treatise on Angel Magic, McLean 1982). Rudd was no slavish follower of ancient... more info
