Wonderful Hymns in inclusive language and gorgeous imagery:
It is frustrating that this book of magnificent contemporary hymns has been allowed to go out of print. Brian Wren is a marvelous poet and a human being of incredible integrity, sensitive to the issues of sexism, racism, and handicapism.He is unsurpassed in finding and incorporating unexplored metaphors for God. Some of his tunes are difficult, but it is usually easy to substitute a more familiar tune of the same meter. When I first sang "Bring Many Names" with Brian, I was so moved, I had to stop singing....
