Wast of money:
I bought this book thinking their may be something of substance - but was mistaken. If you are looking for religious truths this is not the book for you. It's full of nothing but rediculus spells. Total waste of time unless your are a psycho.
The literary blunder of the century.:
Most everyone is going to disagree with me on this, but I have to throw my own two cents in on this work despite this, partially as a warning, to anyone who knows what this operation entails, and is going to undertake it. Readable Classic:
This is a readable edition of an essential work of ritual magic. I strongly recommend reading the foreword, translator's note and introduction before entering the main text, as they provide useful information to orient the reader towards the history and purpose of the work. The appendices also contain useful background and detail. Those who know this work only by reputation (as I did) will be surprised at the 'orthodox' character of much of the material. A missed opportunity.:
The book of Abramelin is a highly important and original book of magic, which describes a process for getting in touch with one's Holy Guardian angel. It was rediscovered and published for the first time by Macgregor Mathers, a co-founder of the Golden Dawn. It obsessed Aleister Crowley, who was unable to carry through the ritual it describes.
