To Oral or not to:
The book itself is beautiful, but it fails to connect the mind to the heart. Intellectually, the author sprinkles us with a minute -yet- direct historical "stories" of how the Mishnah came to be, in the process showing just how fractured Judaism has become. If anything, the Oral Law has proven more divisive than unifying. Judaism has nothing to criticize Christianity over its various sects and denominations. The author calls the people's characters "superhuman", but the book (and history) doesn't present... more info
