Looking for a good book of/on Jewish humor?
Jewish humor - perhaps all humor - is born of necessity. Life for the Jews
has been too painful, much of the time, to take without humor. So Jews living in
Europe during the long centuries of
anti-Semitic oppression couldn't take it out on the Czar, the Kaiser, or
even the local noble, but they could tell jokes about him. So, too, in
modern Israel.
